First Day Book Program

First Day Complete is our new all-encompassing, affordable textbook rental program that will provide all undergraduate and graduate students with materials needed to succeed each semester! Students are automatically enrolled.

Upon registering for courses students will be automatically enrolled into the program. Once you've successfully selected your courses, the bookstore will start preparing your order. Depending on student preference, you will be notified when to pick up your textbooks at the Niagara University Bookstore or they will be shipped directly to you.

The students’ account will be charged a flat-rate fee each semester for all required books and access codes.

For US & Canadian Students studying in the US

  • Full-Time Undergraduate students (enrolled in 12 or more credit hours): $200.00 per semester
  • Part-Time Undergraduate students (enrolled in fewer than 12 credit hours): $40.00 per class
  • Graduate students: $40.00 per class

For Canadian Students in the Ontario Business Programs

  • $55 CAD per class for all required books and access codes.

The program provides all required course materials including physical or digital textbooks, lab manuals, and access codes to eligible students.

The program does not include select school supplies and kits that cannot be rented, returned, and reused including, but not limited to, lab goggles, lab coats, art kits, and nursing kits.

Students dropping a course or withdrawing from the University must return items issued through the book program within the first 30 days of class.

If a course is added, the student will place an online order for the course materials needed through the University Bookstore.

All textbook rentals will be due back at the end of the semester.

Yes, the First Day Complete program provides you with the option to purchase textbooks at a reduced price during the rental return period.  The purchase price for individual course materials will vary.

If you do not return the rented textbooks to the NU Bookstore your student account may be charged the replacement cost and late fees.

Yes, you will still be required to return continuation course textbooks to receive credit for returning all texts; however, you will be issued the same title for the next semester of the continuation course.

Students electing to opt-out of the program must complete the electronic form in MyNU before the first day of class. Once the opt-out form is received by the Student Accounts Office, the University is no longer responsible for issuing textbooks to the student. Students are required to opt-out each semester.
