What is FAFSA?
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the official form that students and their families use to apply for financial assistance for college from the federal government.
What's Changed About FAFSA?
As you may be aware, this year the Department of Education initiated the FAFSA Simplification Act. This represents a significant overhaul of the processes and systems used to award federal student aid starting with the 2024-25 academic year and has caused a delay in the traditional aid packages being sent to families. We expect to receive the FAFSA data in March 2024 and aid packages to be sent in April 2024.
We know and appreciate all that is involved with the college search process and the importance that financial aid plays in that. We understand what this further delay means for students and their families and we sympathize with you as you navigate this new challenge.
Once a student has been accepted and has a valid FAFSA on file, we will be able to send out their offer letter. In addition, a personalized cost of attendance breakdown will be provided that details all of their awards against our costs for tuition, fees, and food and housing if applicable.
