American Sign Language & Deaf Studies

Deaf Awareness

The American Sign Language and Deaf Studies program is a popular program at Niagara University. The minor allows students the ability to earn a "degree with a difference." No matter what your major, a minor in ASL and Deaf Studies will provide you with a unique knowledge base and skill set applicable to any career.

Interested students are encouraged to start the courses early in their studies at Niagara University due to the progressive sequencing of the courses. We realize that many students like to explore courses before making a decision. You are welcome to sit in on a class or two, come to our events, and/or meet with our professors individually. Please contact us to find the best day and time to fit your schedule. We enjoy visitors!

Students who are interested in a minor in American Sign Language & Deaf Studies or the ASL Club are welcome to contact the coordinator, Rachel Violanti, whose office is Dunleavy 348.
