Biography


Mr. Patrick O’Meara is professionally qualified to teach accounting, taxation, finance and financial planning courses.  In 2021, the Association of International CPA’s awarded him a teaching excellence award.  He holds an MBA from Niagara University, Lewiston, NY, USA and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Windsor, Canada.

He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).  In addition, he is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC).  Patrick has taught at Red Deer Polytechnic and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), both in Canada.  He has also held posts as Chair of Business and Commerce programs at the Donald School of Business, Red Deer Polytechnic, and Chair of Accounting, Finance and Economics programs at the school of business at Centennial College, Toronto, Canada.  He is the principal of the Innovative Scholar Inc. and has written three books on topics, such as, personal credit, personal finance and mutual funds.  He is currently writing a fourth textbook focused on management and cost accounting.

Professor O’Meara teaches graduate level courses in Financial and Management Accounting, as well as, Investments at both Niagara University’s Lewiston, NY, and Vaughan, Ontario campus’.  Prior to joining Niagara University’s Holzshuh College of Business Administration, Professor O’Meara was Senior Director of Training Services at the CIFP.
