Dr. Milen Radell

Biography


Dr. Milen L. Radell spent two years working for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a research scientist, and taught statistics at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Rutgers University – Newark, NJ before joining the faculty of NU in 2016. He teaches Introductory Psychology (PSY 101), Behavioral Neuroscience (PSY 231), Psychopharmacology (PSY 371), History and Systems (PSY 361), and Learning and Conditioning (PSY 300). His research interests include learning, memory and decision making, and are guided by his students. He is also interested in personality traits associated with vulnerability to psychopathology, including anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and substance abuse. In addition to developing computer-based tasks to study behavior, Dr. Radell uses computational models to understand the brain mechanisms involved in these processes and disorders.
