Dr. Kahlil Sarikey is an adjunct instructor at Niagara University teaching theory and musicianship courses. In preparation for the stage, musicianship classes integrate how theory can impact profound artistic choices and create a well-rounded theatre professional.
Professional Experience
Dr. Sarikey has performed in several competitions taking first prize in the Eastman Guitar Concerto competition and second prize in the Great Lakes Guitar Society competition. He has participated in master classes with world-renowned artists such as Roland Dyens, Roberto Aussell, and Eliot Fisk. He was awarded a performers certificate while attending the Eastman School of Music, a prestigious award given to those who exemplify the highest levels of performance.
Current Projects/Research
Kahlil helps transcribe and organize the publishing company Seconda Prattica: Arrangements for the Modern Musician. He is currently researching differing methods for classroom guitar teaching in preparation for a publication and in support from a Buffalo State College grant.
