Attention all Niagara families! 

Family Weekend is a wonderful opportunity to have family members visit Monteagle Ridge for a weekend filled with fun events for you to enjoy!

Enjoy activities as a family both on campus and in the community as we celebrate everything that is Niagara University!

Below are a list of this year's activities. Be sure to click on the "Register Now" link to the right to see pricing information and to register.

Friday, September 21

  • Opening Reception - 6:30-8 p.m. - Gallagher Center, Lower Level

    Enjoy a casual and interactive reception with other students and families.

    • Finger foods & samplings, wine/beer/cider tastings, cash bar and student entertainment will also be available.
    • Academic & student service organization group poster/picture presentations.  Ask questions and find out more about experiences you can have at Niagara.  
    • Also connect with our Office of International Relations to explore the many options there are to study abroad at Niagara.
    • There will be other family-friendly activities to enjoy!
  • The Family Deal Game Show - 8:15 p.m. - Dunleavy Hall, Room 127

    Following the reception, head over to Dunleavy Hall to join in the Niagara version of the famous game show "Deal or No Deal"! This is the ultimate game show where contestants pick a numbered briefcase that may contain one of twelve prizes ranging from one penny to $75! Briefcases are then eliminated one by one until a deal is made with the banker. $500 in CASH will be available to win!

     

     This promises to be a fun, entertaining evening with plenty of laughs and plenty of cash given away! 

  • Late Nite Niagara - Country Night - 10 p.m.-12 a.m. - Kiernan Recreation Center

    Giddy up! Have the family participate in the Late Nite Niagara series! Activities include a mechanical bull, Ol' Time Country Photos, Pony Hops, and more! Enjoy some authentic BBQ from The Brickyard BBQ in Lewiston, NY and a root beer float while they last! Fun for all ages!

Saturday, September 22

  • Brunch - 10 a.m.-12 p.m. - Russell J. Salvatore Dining Commons

    Enjoy brunch with your student in the Russell J. Salvatore Dining Commons. The enhanced facility features presentation-style cooking, a variety of seating options, bold colors and design elements that create an inviting environment for NU students to gather.

  • 32nd Annual Wildlife Festival - 10 a.m.-5 p.m. - New York Power Authority

    Located directly adjacent to Niagara's campus, the New York Power Authority sponsors its annual Wildlife Festival. Get ready for some interactive family fun featuring a variety of hands-on family-themed activities, entertainment and food vendors as well as close-up and personal encounters with birds of prey, reptiles, monkeys and other animals. Free admission.

  • Lewiston Harvest & Hops Festival - 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. - Center Street, Village of Lewiston

    The Harvest & Hops Festival in Lewiston, N.Y., is only about four miles north of campus and features more than 100 of the finest craft artists. Enjoy continuous entertainment and samplings of wine, beer and culinary delights. Free admission.

  • Women's Soccer vs. Rider - 1 p.m. - Niagara Field

    Get your kicks and head out to Niagara Field to support our Purple Eagles women's soccer team as they take on Rider at 1 p.m.. 

  • Women's Volleyball vs. Rider - 1 p.m. - Gallagher Center, Upper Level

    Get up to the Gallagher Center gym to cheer on our women's volleyball team as they take on MAAC rival Rider University. Free admission!

  • Discover Niagara Shuttle - 9 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. - Pick Up in St. Vincent's Traffic Circle

    Simply hop on and hop off at your leisure to check out the designated stops at all the best places to see and experience from Niagara Falls to Old Fort Niagara in historic Youngstown, NY. Find out more information about the schedule and tourist destinations at www.discoverniagarashuttle.com. There is no charge to ride the shuttle and can be picked up in the St. Vincent's Circle located in between Dunleavy Hall and the Castellani Art Museum. 

  • "What Happens in Vegas...Comes to NU!"- 5:30 p.m. Registration - Kiernan Recreation Center

    • Check-in will begin in at the Kiernan Center at 5:30 p.m.
    • Gaming will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m.
    • Participate in casino games like Black Jack, Slots, and Poker
    • Hypnotist Paul Ramsey will begin his show "Mind Games" at approximately 8:15pm.
    • A variety of food stations will available, as well as a cash bar.

     

    Also there will be:

    • Acoustic guitar performance by NU alumni
    • Caricature Artist & Photobooth

    Fun casino games and entertainment for all ages! Enjoy games of chance and slot machines from 6-8 p.m. The more you win, the more chances you will earn for the basket raffle held at the end of the evening! Prizes include donations from many areas businesses and of course plenty of NU swag! For entertainment purposes only, no cash exchanged. A night straight from Las Vegas with a casino, show, and of course food and a cash bar.

Sunday, September 23

  • Eucharistic Liturgy - 11 a.m. - Alumni Chapel

    Put a cap on the weekend by celebrating Mass with us in Alumni Chapel. Families of all faiths are welcome!

  • Women's Volleyball vs. Saint Peter's - 1 p.m. - Gallagher Center, Upper Level

    Let's go Purple Eagles!
