Family Weekend 2015 is right around the corner! All students and their families are invited to take part in this year's events taking place September 25-27 on our campus and in the surrounding community.
Friday, September 25
Enjoy a buffet dinner and entertaining game shows. "Best of the Best" and "Survey Says", a family feud-style game show in the Kiernan Recreation Center. All families will have a chance to win some great prizes!
Saturday, September 26
A jam-packed day filled with activities both on and off campus for you to participate in. The morning begins with a nine-hole golf outing at Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Company. Located just minutes away from campus. Golf Magazine rated Hickory Stick as the No. 12 Best Public Courses in New York. Visit www.senecahickorystick.com to see more about the course.
For the non-golfers, you can enjoy brunch with your student at Clet Dining Hall which this year is under new management, Metz Culinary Management. Delight in all you can eat from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. Then join other families at the Niagara University Parents Association meeting in the Gallagher Center Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) from 11:30 a.m -12:30 p.m.
Take in an afternoon of Purple Eagle sports! Come support any one or all of the following Niagara University Club/NCAA Division I sporting events.
On Saturday afternoon, you can also revel in two area local festivals. Directly next door to campus at the New York Power Vista is the 30th annual Wildlife Festival. This annual festival offers exhibits inside and outside the Power Vista. There are birds of prey, reptiles, primates and a fishing exhibition, among other attractions. Also, in nearby Lewiston you are welcome to attend the 32nd annual Harvest Festival. More than 100 of New York State's finest crafters are featured at the Annual Outdoor Lewiston Harvest Festival & Craft show, lining the charming Center Street of the Village of Lewiston. Crafters, food vendors, farmers, wineries, and live music can be found, adding to this autumn event. The festivals are also running on Sunday and are both open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
After dinner on your own, join us back on campus Saturday evening as we "Cha Cha...Ching!" The Kiernan Recreation Center will play host to a live salsa band and a casino night! You can learn some Latin dance moves with Salsa Sarah. All danced out? Try to win big at our family friendly casino games, as the more you play the more chances you will have to win a variety of prizes!
Sunday, September 27
In keeping with the Vincentian tradition of Niagara we will have Eucharistic Liturgy on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. in Alumni Chapel. Following Mass join us for light refreshments in the Gallagher Center Multipurpose Room.
