Dr. Darren Treadway

Biography


Dr. Darren C. Treadway received a Ph.D. from Florida State University, an MBA from Virginia Tech, and a B.S. from Concord College. Dr. Treadway’s research interests include social influence and human resource processes in organizations. Specifically, his research focuses on how political skill, leadership, occupational stigma, and bullying impact employee productivity and retention in service organizations. He has also been involved as an organizational development consultant with profit and non-profit organizations for two decades, most recently focusing on capacity in Youth Sports Organizations.

Dr. Treadway is the author of over 50 articles published in scholarly journals such as Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Leadership Quarterly, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Human Relations. Treadway co-authored Political Skill at Work (2nd Ed.) and co-edited Politics in Organizations: Theory and Research Considerations. Dr. Treadway’s research has twice been received Best Paper Awards from the Journal of Management and American Journal of Business, Highly Commended Paper Award from Journal of Managerial Psychology and twice won the Emerald Publishing Citation of Excellence. His work has been highlighted in popular outlets such as Time, Forbes, Business Week, SHRM, and BBC.

Treadway also servers as Specialty Chief Editor at Frontiers on Psychology – Organizational Psychology and also a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Organizational Behavior and the Journal of Organizational and Leadership Studies. Before his current appointment at Niagara University, he held academic positions at the University of Mississippi, where he was twice named the Researcher of the Year, and at the University at Buffalo where he earned the SUNY @ Buffalo Exceptional Scholar Award.

Dr. Treadway is a native of Rochester, New York and currently resides in Amherst with his two children and his Beagador. He spends his free time enjoying his children’s athletic pursuits and coaching youth travel baseball.
