The Powering Transformation Campaign

Elevate academic excellence and reputation through student-centered, collaborative, experiential, and integrative approaches to learning in preparation for 21st-century careers.

The university is committed to investing in faculty and students by creating an environment that stimulates cutting-edge and impactful learning while nurturing new ideas and innovation. Our investment extends beyond the classroom by offering internships for spirituality-based experiences, opportunities for student-faculty research and collaboration, and excellence in career development and placement.
Current academic funding initiatives include, but are not limited to:
  • Theatre
  • Law & Jurisprudence
  • Nursing
  • Student Retention
  • College of Business Centers for Excellence

Cultivate a culture that fosters excellence in all our experiences, including development of athletics, the campus, residential life, experiential learning, support services and technologies.

Ex. Kiernan Recreation CenterWithin our Campus Master Plan, we have renovated and expanded the Kiernan Recreation Center that is expected to be completed in the fall 2022 semester. This Kiernan Center is a multi-use facility and hub for Division I Sports, intramural and club sports, recreational and wellness programming, sports medicine, ROTC and student-athlete training, academic courses, community fitness activities, youth camps, and campus-based and community-hosted events. The new Kiernan Center will be actively used by students, employees, alumni, and individuals from the community. Niagara will be uniquely positioned to offer our entire community a comprehensive approach to increasing physical activity. To learn more about naming opportunities within the Kiernan Center, please contact Jaclyn Drozd.

Advance impactful collaborations that focus on mission and civic engagement to benefit the Greater Niagara Falls Region and Niagara University.

  • Niagara University students served 209 community organizations during the past academic year.
  • 648 students engaged in IMPACT projects – realizing an economic impact of $573,388 for the Niagara community.
  • Niagara University, as part of its commitment to the City of Niagara Falls, has been given approval by its Board to purchase the First Congregational United Church of Christ, located at 822 Cleveland Avenue in Niagara Falls. Niagara will use the building to create an Academic Innovation Hub which will house a community-based research component to include university faculty in residence working in their area of expertise aligned with social determinants hindering the City’s renewal. Niagara’s Levesque Institute for Civic Engagement will move into the building and oversee a wide range of community and civic engagement efforts. Space will also be available for other university centers or institutes.

Establish Niagara University as the premier binational university within the Province of Ontario in Canada through mission-based academic programs, improved branding, and the establishment of an Ontario presence.

Vaughan Campus Renovations: NU received an extraordinarily generous leadership gift from Canadian business leaders and philanthropists, the Cortellucci family, which helped to strengthen its binational presence by providing a 12,000 square foot bricks and mortar campus. Current expansion and build out of an additional 20,000 square feet of space on the Vaughan campus will further transform teaching and learning creating classrooms in a highly technological environment that will provide community and cultural opportunities, co-working space for faculty and staff, services and amenities for students that support retention and career/workforce pathways. This campus has greatly enhanced the university’s reputation and academic experience for our graduates and alumni. While Niagara has been teaching in the Province, under Consent of the Minister, since 1984, we did not have a campus until our work began in Vaughan.

Diversify revenue generation and strengthen fiscal sustainability.

  • There are various endowment opportunities to support Niagara University students ranging from lectureships, professorships, to scholarships.
  • Many Niagara alumni, especially graduates who have benefited from financial assistance while attending Niagara, are inspired to make a special gift to NU by creating an endowed scholarship. Making a minimum gift of $50,000 to endow a scholarship ensures that your generosity will help high-achieving deserving students.
  • 260 Niagara University Marcus Brown Heritage Society members have included NU in their estate plans, ensuring NU’s ability to provide a Niagara education for many years to come.

Mary Helen and I are honored to have the family name on the College of Business. Niagara University is a special place for both of us, and we are grateful for the experience of our Vincentian education. We feel very fortunate to be able to share our experience and give back to support student scholarships for business and nursing students, as well as Purple Eagle student athletes.

Speaking on behalf of myself, and current and future business students, we thank you very much, Mr. and Mrs. Holzschuh, for your generosity and for strengthening the foundation of our College of Business Administration. Your gift will undoubtedly create opportunities and experiences that will transform lives for many years to come.
