Psychology is a science, an academic discipline, and a time-honored profession. These qualities endow the field of psychology with a unique, multifaceted nature. As scientists, our concern is the careful and systematic observation of behavior and the collection, analysis and interpretation of empirical data. As academics, we deal in the realm of theoretical interpretations and ethical controversies.
