Biography


Dr. Carolyn Shivers joined the NU Department of Psychology as an Associate Professor in 2022, and she is the director of the undergraduate minor in Disability Studies. Her research interests involve disability and inclusion, centering around the ways that ableism and societal barriers impact individuals with disabilities and their families. Currently, Dr. Shivers and her students are developing a quantitative measure of experienced ableism and examining perceptions of people with disabilities among various populations. Her lab and office are located in 102 DePaul.
