Various scholarship opportunities are available to tourism and hospitality students. They are based on need, academic achievement, and career aspirations. Some of these include: University sponsored scholarships, Statler Foundation, National Tour Foundation, American Society of Travel Agents, National Restaurant Educational Association, New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association, and the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation.
WHO: Students who are actively enrolled in a two year program freshmen, four year program sophomore and above, and graduate level attending college in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Northern New Jersey. Students mus have a cumulative overall 3.0 GPA. Major and career objective within a hospitality related field (interior design, hospitality management, culinary, etc.)
WHAT: The NEWH New York Chapter scholarship will award students minimum of $2,500. For the application students will need an official transcript, up to three letters of recommendations (professors, advisor, employer, etc.), and a student essay 500-word maximum. The student essay should include: background about the student, experience, goals/objective, reasoning for career choice, contributions to the program, etc.

WHO - Residents of the 14 County Finger Lakes Tourism Region (Cayuga, Chemung, Cortland, Livingston, Monroe, Onodoga, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne, and Yates counties). Students must be studying Tourism and Hospitality and at least in their 2nd year of the program.
WHAT - The Finger Lakes Region Scholarship will award $2500 to students who have work history within the Tourism industry, endorsement from their employers highlighting the work performed, two additional letters of reference or recommendation from a current professor, and a 400 word or less statement.
WHEN - Scholarship applications must be received no later than November 15, 2020. Applications must be submitted via email.

This Fund was established in 2018 by the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) Alumni Association for the purpose of providing direct, need-based financial support to students enrolled in the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
Scholarships will be awarded as-needed provided funds are available.
Disbursements from this fund will be made to students of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management who require immediate financial support in order to continue their Niagara University education. Recipients must be juniors or seniors who have maintained at least a 2.5 GPA and who are at risk of not graduating due to financial need.
The Association of Destination Management Executives International (ADMEI) awards two scholarships annually. The Linda Thompson Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students who are preparing for a career in Destination Management. One scholarship will be awarded to a North American student and the other to a global student studying hospitality management in North America.
Please download the application here for application instruction. Applicants must include a letter of recommendation from either a professor or a professional in the meetings industry. The letter, in English, should verify their commitment and ability to complete the educational program, experience in the event management industry, whether volunteer or paid, and aptitude to deal with the demands of the Destination Management profession.
Students should also include a personal statement, in English, of at least 250 words that explains their interest in the Destination Management/Event Management Industry; their knowledge or experience in the Destination Management/Event Management field; how receiving this scholarship would help them achieve their goals; and, their thoughts and experiences with a recent event they have attended. Scholarship applications will be reviewed by a committee of Destination Management professionals beginning on 1 November. The scholarships will be awarded at the 2019 ADMEI Annual Meeting in Houston, TX USA 7 – 9 FEB. Scholarship recipients need not be present to accept their award, however, if they choose to participate in the annual meeting, they will receive complimentary registration, hotel accommodations, and airfare assistance courtesy of ADMEI.

Grilla Grills is proud to offer a $500 scholarship to an aspiring culinary student with our Grilla Grills National Culinary Education Scholarship to assist them in furthering their culinary education.
How to Enter
To be eligible for the scholarship you will need to fill out the required fields in our submission form (see below). Winner will be based on our staff’s determination of the candidate with the most compelling answers.
Entries must be received by March 29, 2019 and the winner will be notified by April 12, 2019. Grilla Grills will present the winner with a check made out to the school at which they are enrolled.
Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited culinary arts program in the United States for the 2019 school year. Applicants must be legal U.S. residents.

KaTom takes pride in equipping the next generation of foodservice professionals with what they need to succeed. We offer a $1,500 grant to qualified students in accredited culinary and hospitality programs to help pay for the cost of that education.
Who can apply?
Current or future culinary arts and hospitality students are encouraged to apply for the KaTom Culinary Arts and Hospitality Scholarship. These students include:
- Any student currently enrolled in a culinary or hospitality program at an accredited post- secondary educational institution in the United States
- High school seniors planning to pursue a degree in the culinary arts or hospitality field
- Students working toward a GED
- Adult learners enrolling in culinary or hospitality courses

LionsDeal is offering a bi-annual scholarship to students enrolled in a U.S or Canadian college/university who are pursuing careers in the food service and hospitality industry in addition to nutrition, business management and marketing. This scholarship requires an essay submission, and the winning applicants will receive $1,200 USD each towards their costs of education. The deadline for receiving scholarship submitted applications will occur bi-annually, on July 15th for the July 31st scholarship and on January 15th for the January 31st scholarship. The Scottsdale Recovery Center Humanitarian Scholarship Program will provide $1500 to a student for use in undergraduate or graduate education programs.
Students applying for this scholarship must be enrolling in a university of higher learning next year or currently enrolled at a collegiate institution in a program that culminates with a bachelor or graduate degree. All scholarship applicants must be age 18 or over and currently enrolled as a high school senior through college graduate level student.
All scholarship applicants must compose a 500-word essay, double-spaced, revealing how these funds will help in your personal quest for higher learning. Please cite personal experiences that illustrate examples of humanitarian or philanthropic efforts in social settings for community service or health care. Include ideologies or people who have influenced your decision to pursue education and vocational aspirations in the health or human services field.

The WebstaurantStore Biannual Culinary & Hospitality Scholarship has been awarded since 2015. Twice a year, we award a one-time grant to students currently enrolled in or planning to attend a culinary arts or hospitality management program.
Deadlines for each semester are December 1st and June 15th annually.
We've set up this scholarship in order to support the next generation of innovative chefs and restaurant managers, all of whom are such a critical part of WebstaurantStore's success. The scholarship is open to all students who are currently enrolled in culinary or hospitality programs, as well as high school seniors, GED students, and non-traditional learning students who plan to enroll in similar programs at the start of the next year.
