Health Insurance

The university offers a student health insurance program that is available to Niagara University students for your safety and well-being. Keeping students well and in the classroom is our utmost priority.

For the 2021-22 year, this health plan is mandatory for all incoming freshman and sophomores (including athletes) and is mandatory for all inbound international students.

All domestic freshman and sophomore students (including athletes) must visit and take action by either proactively enrolling into the student health insurance program, or waiving the student health insurance program with an alternate insurance policy that meets the university’s criteria.

SPRING 2022 WAIVER DEADLINE: February 28, 2022

Students who DO NOT TAKE ACTION by February 28, 2022 will be automatically enrolled in the student health insurance program and will be responsible for all charges it entails.

Uploading proof of insurance to the "Medicat Online Health Portal" does NOT waive enrollment to the student health insurance program.

Niagara University students MUST take action prior to the deadline their first semester and then every FALL semester.
