Health Insurance

The university offers a student health insurance program that is available to Niagara University students for your safety and well-being. Keeping students well and in the classroom is our utmost priority.

For the 2022- 2023 year, this health plan is mandatory for all incoming freshman, sophomores and juniors (including athletes) and is mandatory for all inbound international students.

All domestic freshmen students, sophomores and juniors (including athletes) must visit Niagara University Student Health Insurance (Haylor) and take action by either proactively enrolling into the student health insurance program, or waiving the student health insurance program with an alternate insurance policy that meets the university's criteria. The Spring 2023 portal will be open between January 1, 2023 and February 28, 2023.

Spring 2023 WAIVER DEADLINE: February 28, 2023

Students who DO NOT TAKE ACTION by February 28, 2023 will be automatically enrolled in the student health insurance program and will be responsible for all charges it entails. Uploading proof of insurance to the "Medicat Online Health Portal" does NOT waive enrollment to the student health insurance program. Any student who fails to comply with this directive WILL INCUR THE COST OF THE INSURANCE PREMIUM IN IT'S ENTIRETY.

Niagara University students MUST take action prior to the deadline their first semester and then EVERY FALL semester prior to September 30th of that academic year.
