Under New York State law, students enrolled in post-secondary institutions are required to provide proof of immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR). Students who hold genuine and sincere religious beliefs that are contrary to immunization may request a religious exemption.
To be considered, students must submit a completed Religious Immunization Exemption Request form along with any required supporting documentation to Health Services. Requests are reviewed on an individual basis, and approval is not guaranteed. If an exemption is granted, it may include lawful limitations or conditions on the exempted individual’s participation in activities or programs on campus per New York State guidelines and laws.
For timely review, all requests must be submitted by August 1 for the fall semester and January 1 for the spring semester.
Please contact Health Services with any questions regarding the exemption process.
