Robyn Horn

Robyn teaches sophomore-level Acting Styles, focusing on the works of Anton Chekhov and Shakespeare. In the spring, Robyn also teaches a Theatre Appreciation course for all majors here at NU.

NU Theatre


For Niagara University Theatre, Robyn directed last season’s The Thanksgiving Play and the upcoming production of Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley.

Professional Experience


For more than 20 years, Robyn has worked in theatre as an actor, director, and educator. Since moving to Buffalo in 2018, she received a Best Director Artie nomination for Berserker at Alleyway Theatre and a Best Actress in a Musical Artie nomination for her role as Adult Alison in FunHome at MusicalFare/Shea’s 710. As a member of AEA, Robyn has performed at regional theatres across the country, including the Paper Mill Playhouse, The Shakespeare Theatre of NJ, Northern Stage, and the Greater Boston Stage Company. In New York City, she performed in the Irish Rep benefit concerts of Brigadoon (starring Jeremy Irons) and Oliver (starring Brian Stokes Mitchell) at Broadway’s Shubert Theatre and in the pre-Broadway workshop of Wicked as Shen Shen. Robyn can be heard on the American Cast Recording of Children of Eden.

Current Projects/Research


In fall 2022, Robyn is acting in the short film This is Not a Pipe Dream in the role of Nana (Diane Almeter Jones/Leaves are Falling Fast Productions). In Spring 2023, Robyn will direct the world premiere of The Aleph Complex at Alleyway Theatre. She is a doctoral candidate at UB and is currently completing her dissertation on apocalyptic Christian performance in the United States. She contributed a chapter to the edited collection, Theatre and The Macabre, published in 2022.
