Students gain an understanding for the art of cinema and how it is shaped and influenced through various fields of study.

Internships & Connections

As a film studies minor, your learning doesn’t stop in the classroom. In fact, much of the knowledge you gain will be through practical experience acquired through internships and industry connections. Western New York has recently become a burgeoning area for both independent and major motion pictures including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016)Marshall (2017)Quiet Place 2 (2021), and Nightmare Alley (2021). This is an exciting time to be part of WNY’s film industry and we encourage our students to explore all of the possibilities available to you! Visit the links below to get started!
