Biography
Dr. Carter is a professor and Field Practicum Coordinator at Niagara University’s Social Work Department, where she has successfully managed practicum placements for undergraduate social work students. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy, a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree specializing in Drugs and Alcohol Treatment, and a Master’s in Education with a focus on Early Childhood Education. Dr. Carter also holds an active Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) credential with the New York State Office of Professions. Dr. Carter is deeply committed to addressing critical challenges affecting at-risk populations. Her work focuses on improving graduation rates among K-12 students, addressing substance abuse within families, and reducing infant mortality rates in Western New York. As a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), she brings extensive clinical experience working with adults and youth in outpatient mental health clinics. Through her dedication and expertise, Dr. Carter continues to make a meaningful impact by improving lives and strengthening communities.
