Biography


After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from SUNY Buffalo State University, Beth worked with young adults living with serious mental illness in a residential setting in Buffalo, New York. While working there, she decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Social Work from University of Buffalo’s School of Social Work. After obtaining her MSW and passing the NYS social work licensing exam, Beth began working as a clinical social worker at a local community mental health clinic providing psychotherapy to children, youth, and families. In 2015, Beth successfully passed the NYS clinical social work licensing exam. While working as a clinical social worker Beth had the opportunity to begin teaching BSW social work students at SUNY Buffalo State University and was encouraged to pursue her PhD in Social Welfare, combining her love of teaching BSW and MSW-level social work students with continuing to build social work practice and research skills to improve mental health service delivery systems for children, youth, and families. In 2024, Beth completed her PhD in Social Welfare from University at Buffalo’s School of Social Work and joined the faculty at Niagara University as Assistant Professor of social work. Beth also continues to work per-diem as a clinical social worker with a non-profit community mental health clinic in Buffalo, NY.
