Biography

Dr. Anthony Cappello earned his BA in mathematics and secondary education at Houghton College in 2013 and after graduating taught high school mathematics at Asheboro High School until 2018. During his time as a high school teacher, Dr. Cappello earned his MS in mathematics from Emporia State University. Dr. Cappello then earned his PhD from the University of Pittsburgh in 2024, and before coming to Niagara University in 2025, he worked as an assistant professor at Alvernia University for one year.

If you want to hear Dr. Cappello talk for hours about something not mathematical, you should ask him about some of his other interests such as: the Buffalo Bills, fountain pens, the Lord of the Rings, vinyl records, and ukuleles.

Current Research

Dr. Cappello is currently looking at understanding the regularity of the boundary of convex bodies using n-dimensional balls and using these results to simplify and extend results in the field of convex analysis. Moreover, he hopes to apply his results in the fields of control theory and PDE’s. Dr. Cappello is also interested in extending his work to understand the regularity of the boundary of general domains. He enjoys working with anything that has a geometrical flavor to it.
