Commencement 2021

Graduation 2021 Update - April 21, 2021

Following recent changes in the guidelines from the NYS Governor’s Office regarding commencement ceremonies, the Niagara University commencement team has explored a number of different options that will allow students to invite guests to their graduation ceremony. Our current proposal entails moving all three Lewiston commencement exercises to the outdoor amphitheater at Artpark. This will allow each graduate to invite up to two guests, while still maintaining the required protocols for social distancing and face coverings.

The days and times of each ceremony will remain the same.

May 20, 2021 Graduate ceremony 7:30pm
May 22, 2021 Undergraduate ceremony
Business Administration, Education, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Nursing
May 22, 2021 Undergraduate ceremony
College of Arts and Sciences

All attendees, including the graduates and university employees, will be required to show either (1) a negative COVID test completed within 72 hours of the ceremony, or (2) proof of vaccination in the form of a paper vaccination card or the Excelsior wallet app. These will be verified for every attendee upon arrival to Artpark.

Be aware, this is a preliminary announcement. We are still waiting for final approvals from the Department of Health and the NYS Parks Department.

The Artpark amphitheatre is an uncovered outdoor venue, so guests will need to dress for the weather, and to bring umbrellas or slickers in case of rain. Guest seating will be general admission, with chairs set up in pairs, spaced 6 feet apart.

More event details, including a link to register for tickets online, will be posted shortly.
