Biography


Dr. Kia Boyd is an Assistant Professor of School Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis at Niagara University. Dr. Boyd holds a Ph.D. in School Psychology and has worked as a school psychologist in public schools for several years in the states of Tennessee, Alabama, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania. In addition, Dr. Boyd has participated at the local, state, and national levels to advocate for the profession of school psychology.

Description: Serving as the flagship journal of the Trainers of School Psychologists, SPTP plays a pivotal role in guiding future teaching, education, and pedagogy in the field of school psychology.

Community

Certified and trained as a mindfulness teacher to increase awareness of mental health challenges, such as stress and anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and equipping participants with coping skills. The training, in conjunction with the Center of Mindful Practice at Niagara University, provides community-based outreach services in mindfulness for educators, students, and families.
