Bio
Michael Jeswald is a Training Manager at the Hospitality Training & Research Center and has been with Niagara University since 2005. He has over 25 years experience in the Hospitality Industry. He has worked as a Night Auditor, Front Office Manager, and a Sales Manager at various hotels in Western New York. He was also the Director of Convention Services and Sales for the Buffalo Convention Center for 7 years; working directly with the Convention & Visitors Bureau to solidify future city-wide conventions.
He specializes in topics pertaining to marketing and sales, quality customer service, and professional development. Michael is currently teaching a Convention Sales and Marketing class that focus the students on how to prepare for the sales call, sales techniques, and effective strategies to close the sale. The class simulates a sales department environment where the students are making sales calls.
Michael is a member of the Niagara County Youth Council and helps coordinate hospitality based programs that provide opportunities for the youth of Niagara County. He is also a professional development instructor for the local hospitality community. He truly believes that success in the Hospitality Industry starts with a quality attitude and the passion to want to take care of people. His programs emphasize the importance of internal customer relationships that ultimately lead to quality customer service.
He is a graduate of SUNY at Fredonia with a Bachelors of Science in Business Management and has an MBA in Human Resources from Niagara University. He is also a member of the National Honor Society of Beta Gamma Sigma.
