Adjunct Professor

John Hogg has over twenty eight years of experience in delivering Supply Chain Excellence and Process Transformation leveraging Lean Six Sigma Principles. John began his consulting career following a successful 20-year career at Rich Products, a $3 billion food company, where he held leadership positions in all supply chain disciplines, including Inventory Control, Materials Management, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, ERP Implementation, Business Process Transformation, and Lean Manufacturing.  

John decided to leave Rich Products in 2008 to leverage his supply chain and process expertise for a broader market. John created Straight-Forward Consulting to strengthen the regional economy by bringing his unique combination of supply chain, process, and lean skills to other companies. His Process Transformation engagements include clients in Aerospace and Defense, Healthcare, Government, Automotive, Construction, Industrial, Food, Precious Metals, and Consumer Goods verticals. Supply Chain Excellence engagements include clients in Consumer Goods, Food, Industrial, Apparel, and Life Sciences.

John has a BA and an MBA from Canisius College, and has recently graduated from the UB Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (UB CEL).  In addition, John is a Certified Lean Sensei; a Certified Lean Professional; a Certified Business Process Master through Michael Hammer and Associates, and has obtained Certification in Production and Inventory Management through the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS).

John is President of the Western New York Chapter of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP).  He has served on the Supply Chain Council’s North American Board for the past 8 years, and was the Chair of its 2013 “Supply Chain World” national conference. He is an Adjunct Professor at Niagara University, where he teaches at both the Graduate and Undergraduate level, and is a frequent speaker at national and regional supply chain and quality conferences.

John has served on Board for the Canisius College MBA Alumni Association and the Advisory Board at the Women’s Business Center at Canisius College, and currently serves on the Board of Trustees at the Chesterton Academy of Buffalo, a new private high school in the Catholic tradition.
