Dr. McCutcheon teaches Spanish language and Peninsular Spanish literature and culture, as well as Latin American film and Hispanic women writers in English translation. He previously did research in Twentieth Century Peninsular Spanish Literature, with a particular focus on the continuing effects of the Spanish Civil War in post-Franco Spain. However, over the past several years he has shifted his focus to translation. He has translated a novel by Catalan author Montserrat Roig from Catalan to English, which is being considered for publication, and he is currently working on another novel by the same author.
