Mr. Alegre started teaching at Niagara University as an Adjunct Professor of Management in 2001. In 2015 he was named Full-time Instructor of Management and Leadership. He serves as Advisor to the University’s Interdisciplinary Minor in Leadership. He is a consultant and trainer in personal and organizational effectiveness. Since 1974 he has provided training for business people, healthcare professionals, human service providers, educators, clergy, and others.
He has been a recipient of the Trainer of the Year Award from the Niagara Frontier Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development. He has been recognized for Outstanding Teaching and Dedication by Niagara University’s College of Business. The EAGLE leadership process he designed for Niagara University received the New York Leadership Educators Consortium Innovative Program Award. He also has received the NYLEC Tom Matthews Visionary Award for his contributions to leadership education. He was the first to receive the Leadership Award presented by the Buffalo Chapter of the International Management Network and was similarly honored by the Buffalo Chapter of the International Management Council. He has been a recipient of the Langston Hughes Institute Volunteer Arts Award. He has been honored with the Angel Award from Niagara Falls (NY) Main Street Business & Professional Association and the Leadership Award from Hyde Park (Niagara Falls, NY) Business & Professional Association.
Mr. Alegre is a graduate of Hobart College in Geneva, NY, and holds a Master’s degree from SUNY at Geneseo He is a member of the National Clearinghouse for Leadership Programs, New York State Leadership Educators Consortium, and is Vice Chair of the Western New York Student Leadership and Engagement Consortium.
