Pre-Law Student Association

At the heart of the highly-successful pre-law advisement program is a very popular, academically-based student organization know as the NU Pre-Law Student Association, or NUPRLA. Each year, the organization co-hosts the Western New York Law School Fair, the fall trip to the LSAC Law Forum, the spring trip to the United States Supreme Court, law school visitations, a banquet and many other academic and social events (we even do Lasertron and go bowling!). NUPRLA is comprised of students from many different majors that come together in this student-run organization, which is open to all years and all majors,

One of the highlights of NUPRLA is our yearly trip to witness two sets of oral arguments in front of the U.S. Supreme Court. Match this up with museum tours, law offices and legal advocacy group visits, and NUPRLA has Washington D.C. covered! Each fall, NUPRLA attends the LSAC National Law Forum. Comprised of law school deans and admissions officers from over 190 law schools, the LSAC Forum is an excellent way for our younger students to get to know more about specific law programs and for our older students to interview for law school admissions. In fact, Niagara University is the only program that sends a group of students to this excellent event and, in years past, NUPRLA has attended conferences in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Houston and, this year, Miami, Fla.

We team up NUPRLA with Moot Court competitions and the Pre-Law Student International Fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta. The result: Our students are prepared academically, scholastically, personally and professionally to take on the real world of law and advocacy. For more information on the NU Pre-Law Student Association, please contact one of our co-presidents, Jaclyn Rodino or Matt Hicks.
