Niagara University, The MBA for Me

Angelica Minoia is a student in the Master of Business Administration Program

Three years ago, if someone told me that I would be working on my MBA with a concentration in strategic marketing, I would have thought they were kidding. At that point, I was an unemployed, three-time college dropout who was weighing the idea of making one more attempt at finishing school.

Six months later, I finished my associate degree in human services and got a job at a nonprofit agency, where I worked for the next year and a half while pursuing my bachelor’s degree in human development. During that time, I learned valuable soft skills but the greatest takeaway was that I realized that I no longer wanted to pursue a career in human services.

I then decided to dabble in experiential marketing and fell in love with it. I excelled in marketing and was in a leadership position during my first six months of employment. Not only did I find a love for marketing, I developed a love for Western New York and knew I wanted to earn an MBA from a college in such a beautiful area.

Two summers ago, I visited and compared two business schools. Niagara University completely took the other school off the radar very quickly. I will never forget the feeling I got when I called the assistant director of the MBA program and he remembered me from my visit – he even remembered where I studied for undergrad. At that point, I was convinced Niagara University was the school for me.

The Niagara University MBA program is the perfect program for those like me who are looking to make a pivot in their education and career. So far, my education at Niagara has challenged me and fueled my drive to succeed in my career.

For those who are on the fence about attending Niagara University, let me tell you that there are many advantages to starting the program. Niagara offers opportunities for assistantships and scholarships as well as the opportunity to meet large employers such as Citi and Deloitte.

At Niagara, the professors know your name and you are not just a number. They want you to succeed!
