Making a Positive Impact on a Child's Growth and Development

During my time at Niagara University in the College of Education, I learned that teachers are not just educators, but also role models in a student’s life. Your title may be teacher, but you are also a counselor, coach and, in some cases, the closest thing some students may have to a parental figure.

I cannot thank the faculty and staff in the College of Education at Niagara enough for their helpfulness and guidance at all times. As a student-athlete at Niagara, it can be stressful balancing both school and sport. However, fantastic people such as Dr. Valentin, Tammy Bruno, Dr. Vermette and countless other members in the College of Education were right by my side helping me reach my goal of a prestigious Niagara University teaching degree.

As a freshman at Niagara University, I was unsure of which major to pursue. Originally, I was on track to enter the College of Business Administration, but realized I could make a significant impact on a child's life as a teacher. Everybody remembers their favorite elementary school teacher and I want to be that teacher for all my students.

Not only have I grown as a student at Niagara, but also as a person who is dedicated to helping others. Niagara University will always be a second home for me and am proud to say I am a Purple Eagle for life.
