How did you secure the opportunity?
I consistently checked Handshake: The Get Hired Portal for postings related to my major and applied to almost every marketing internship.
What did you do on a daily basis?
As the marketing communications intern, I posted on social media platforms, created newsletters for customers and had the opportunity to create summer week "Sneak Peeks" for their upcoming summer camp.
Most importantly, what did you learn?
I learned that there are so many aspects of a business to run smoothly.
What advice do you have for future students?
Don’t be afraid to apply for internships that you aren't sure if you would like or give up on finding an internship. Try everything out to decide what field and industry you want to pursue and keep applying to find the right opportunity. I realized through this internship I like doing the marketing aspect of public relations and communications.
