Susan M. Roarke, M.A.
Assistant Director of Compliance Services, Expert in Residence
In 2015 Susan Roarke was hired to the Department of Athletics administrative leadership staff at Niagara University. Roarke will serve as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.
Roarke spent the previous nine years at Buffalo State College where she was the women's basketball head coach and served as the Assistant Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator. In nine seasons with the Bengals, Roarke had an overall record of 118-114 and guided the Bengals to the SUNYAC playoffs six times. In the 2011-12 season, the Bengals finished 25-3 and claimed the conference's regular-season title. Roarke was named the 2012 SUNYAC Coach or the Year and the BCANY Coach of the Year.
As the Senior Woman Administrator, she assisted in the compilation of the EADA Report and department budget, organized monthly professional development for coaches, and supervised the women's lacrosse and volleyball programs. She also served as a member of the Hall of Fame committee, the SUNYAC Student-Athlete Well-Being Committee and the Buffalo State Intercollegiate Athletics Board.
Prior to her tenure at Buffalo State Roarke also coached basketball at Merrimack College, Stevens Institute of Technology and Russell Sage College. During her tenure at Russell Sage she also served as the school’s Sports Information Director.
Roarke earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education, Magna Cum Laude, at Keuka College where she was a four-year starter on the basketball team, captain of the women's tennis team and member of the softball team. She received a Master of Arts in Political Science and Master of Science in Sports Studies from Miami University. She was also inducted into the Catholic Central High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
