Since 1995, Mike has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Multicultural Education, Foundations of Education, Motivation and Classroom Management, Research and Statistics, and Special Needs. Mike also supervises student teachers in elementary and secondary classrooms in Canada and the US. During the past ten summers, he has conducted study abroad programs and multicultural/constructivist workshops in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Thailand, and China and served as the co-editor of Jpacte, the constructivist e-journal. During his 2007-08 sabbatical, Mike taught at Sanda University in Shanghai and trained student volunteers for the Beijing Olympics and Shanghai World Expo 2010.

For his 2014 sabbatical, Mike spent a full year in Thailand facilitating a paid, three-month, summer teaching placement for 15 NU students and graduates at Lertlah Schools in Bangkok.  He also served as a keynote speaker and conducted a series of workshops for international conferences at Rajabhat Universities in Buriram and Bangkok.
