My girlfriend, Samantha, and I volunteered at the Friendship Village in the summer of 2013, and I have subsequently become a member of the board of the directors of the Vietnam Friendship Village Project - USA. At Niagara University, I am currently leading a fundraising drive to raise $2,500 for the village so they can purchase a small plot of land for a much-needed vegetable garden.

The Vietnam Friendship Village Project - USA is the American fundraising arm of the Vietnam Friendship Village, a residential school and clinic on the outskirts of Hanoi, Vietnam, that serves 120 children and young adults living with moderate to severe disabilities owing to exposure to Agent Orange. Also, veterans from both sides of the war spend time at the village in one-month wellness retreats where they continue to learn how to manage in the medical aftermath of a war that ended 40 years ago.
