Bio

Shannon Dowd teaches Spanish language and Latin American literature and culture courses. Her focus is on twentieth and twenty-first century literature and critical theory. She is currently completing a book about the literature and film of border wars in Central and South America. She has studied or presented research on this topic in Argentina, Bolivia, the Falkland Islands/Islas Malvinas, Peru, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

She is also working on another research project on toxins in post-2001 fiction and film. Her work has appeared in Revista de Estudios Hispánicos, Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies, Política común, and is forthcoming at Revista Hispánica Moderna.
