Senior Lecturer


A Niagara alumnus, Prof. Connolly joined the faculty as a lecturer in the fall of 2007 and currently teaches Introduction to Criminal Justice during the fall semester and Criminal Investigation in the spring.

Since 1999, Prof. Connolly has been employed full-time with the Town of Tonawanda Police Department and has been a Detective assigned to the Criminal Investigation Bureau since 2009. Prof. Connolly is certified by the State of New York as a general topics instructor, breath test operator, field training officer, radar/lidar operator, Level I fire investigator and Level I fingerprint examiner. 

In addition to his career in civilian law enforcement, Prof. Connolly served in various capacities with the United States Army Reserve from 1992-2007.  Since 2013, Prof. Connolly has served in the Air Force Reserve.  Prior to becoming a police officer, Prof. Connolly was employed as a loss prevention investigator for Target Stores.

While laying the theoretical foundations for his students, Prof. Connolly strives to provide his students with “real world” examples of how the criminal justice functions in today’s society.  Through these illustrations, Prof. Connolly seeks to generate student interest in pursuing the myriad of criminal justice careers that are available to college graduates.
