Adjunct Professor, Physical Theatre
Robin graduated from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada, the 2-year physical theatre program at Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris, France, then toured with the Canadian Mime Theatre for 4 years. A co-founder of the international touring ensemble Theatre Beyond Words, Robin is presently Artistic Director of the company, specializing in devising and directing original mask, clown and modern commedia dell'arte shows. She has taught physical theatre courses at Brock University since 1982. For NU, she directed Godspell (2006); co-directed TBW's multi-media play Night Train to Foggy Bottom (2008), The Boy Who Could Sing Pictures by John Lazarus (2011) and A Commedia Christmas Carol by Matthew R. Wilson (2014). In 2016 she was a Mime and Movement Consultant for the Shaw Festival’s acclaimed production of Our Town. This season for NU Robin will direct TBW’s internationally renowned, original, live animation-style mask play, School Daze.
