Adjunct Professor, Physical Theatre
Robin graduated from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada, and the 2-year physical theatre program at Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris, France, and then toured with the Canadian Mime Theatre for 4 years. A co-founder of the international touring ensemble Theatre Beyond Words, Robin is presently Artistic Director of the company, specializing in devising and directing original mask, clown and modern commedia dell'arte shows. She has taught physical theatre courses at Brock University since 1982. For NU, she directed Godspell (2006); co-directed TBW's multi-media play Night Train to Foggy Bottom (2008), the mask/puppet play The Boy Who Could Sing Pictures (2011), and A Commedia Christmas Carol (2014). In 2016, she was a Mime and Movement Consultant for Shaw Festivals’ acclaimed production of Our Town. Last season for NU Robin directed School Daze, part of TBW’s internationally renowned series of non-verbal cartoon-style mask plays, Potato People.
