Reimbursements and incentives

  • One delegate per chapter (the voting delegate) is eligible to receive a reimbursement for most travel expenses up to $750 plus one hotel night (when staying two nights, either with a voting delegate from another chapter or with other delegates from their own chapter). 
  • A special chapter award consisting of a certificate and $200 is presented to the outstanding chapter whose activities are documented by a poster presented at the biennial convention. The recipient of the outstanding chapter award will be determined by the Executive Officers present at the convention. (See page 6 for details).
  • Each student presenting a research poster at the convention will receive the Conn Award consisting of $50 and a certificate.
  • The Powell Research Poster award of $100 and certificate will be presented to the best student research poster.

Transportation / Travel

Transportation between locations will be provided, according to the schedule.

  • Saturday afternoon: Niagara Crossing Hotel to Niagara Falls State Park and back
  • Saturday evening: Niagara Crossing Hotel to Niagara University and back
  • Sunday morning: Niagara Crossing Hotel to Whirlpool State Park and back

Free parking is available at Niagara University, the Niagara Crossing Hotel, and the Village of Lewiston. At the Niagara Falls State Park, parking costs $10 per vehicle.


The registration fee covers the cost of dinner on Friday, lunch on Saturday, and the banquet on Saturday. Breakfast is included for those staying at the Niagara Crossing Hotel.

The Niagara Crossing is an exclusive boutique hotel located in the historic town of Lewiston, NY.

Free Wi-Fi is available and parking at the hotel is complimentary. Free-of-charge parking areas are also available adjacent to the hotel. Check-in is at 4:00 pm and check-out is at 11:00 am.

The room rate for this convention is $149.00 (+ applicable taxes) per room, per night until Friday, September 15 (or while rooms are still vacant). This rate assumes double occupancy at a rate of $74.50 (+ applicable taxes) per person. If needed, a $10.00 fee per person per day will be charged by the hotel for triple and quadruple occupancy upon arrival.

Reservations are to be made by phone with the Niagara Crossing Hotel: (716) 754-9070. Mention the “Gamma Sigma Epsilon Convention”. No charge will be made at the time of booking but a credit card number is required to hold the reservation.

Although staying at the Niagara Crossing Hotel is highly recommended, attendees are free to make other lodging arrangements. Poster session

The poster session on Saturday (October 7) evening will consist of two simultaneous sub-sessions: one for presentation of research by Gamma Sigma Epsilon student attendees, and the other for presentation of chapter activities. Student who are currently engaged in research projects are encouraged to present a research poster. Each GSE chapter is requested to present a poster on the chapter’s activities.

Easels to display posters that are on a single sheet of paper or on poster paper will be available. Posters should not be larger than 48 inches wide and 36 inches tall.

Please email Dr. Luis Sanchez by October 2, 2017 to be given a spot at the poster session. Include the poster title and please state if you will be presenting a research poster or if your chapter will be presenting an activities poster.

Awards for outstanding research and chapter posters will be presented during the banquet.
