Bio

Dr. Tompkins joined the faculty in January 1999. He has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Akron. Dr. Tompkins completed his doctoral education in 1993 at the University of Kentucky with a major in Finance and a minor in Statistics.

Dr. Tompkins primary research and teaching interests include investments, international finance, portfolio theory, signaling and capital structure. He recently had the following papers published:

He is a member of the Financial Management Association, CFA Institute and Southern Finance Association. He provides leadership and community service by serving as the Board of Directors for a Credit Union, as an officer of a local professional society and is active in other civic activities. Dr. Tompkins is also the co-moderator of the Niagara University student chapter of the Financial Management Association.
