Why I Chose NU
I chose NU because I felt like I was already a part of the NU family from the minute I stepped on campus. Everyone including the students, admissions team, professors, and staff are extremely friendly and there to help you succeed. My professors not only go above and beyond to further my education, but care about me personally and bringing clarity to my future
My Favorite Place on Campus
My favorite place on campus is the Golisano Center. As a chemistry major, I spend a lot of time in our science building. It is full of state-of-the-art labs, and home to a lot of my professors’ offices. There they can be found for academic help or even just to sit down and talk. Upstairs, you can find the professors’ research labs that students can work in starting their freshman year. There are also a lot of cool study spots.
There are so many different clubs and organizations that you can join here at NU. I am personally involved in the American Chemical Society, ski club, and Latinos Unidos (Spanish club). American Chemical Society is open to all students; we get together to explore fun experiments and go to conferences across the country. In the winter, the ski club goes to Holiday Valley every week. Latinos Unidos is open to all students and celebrates Latin culture and discusses world issues that face countries of Latin origins. I have a work-study position working at the circulation desk in the library. I also work as a tour guide in admissions.
