Accepted International Students
Once all the required documents are received by the Admissions Office, the applicant will be evaluated for admission and scholarship packages. Admissions must receive all application materials including TOEFL or IELTS scores for non-native English speakers. These materials must be received by Aug. 1 for the fall semester and Dec. 1 for the spring semester. Any documents received after these dates may make it difficult to enroll for that particular semester. Please understand that as an international student, you must also allow time for visa document issuance, which varies from country to country. The local United States Embassy or Consulate may be able to give a suggested timeline for visa processing.
International students entering the United States for the purpose of study must secure a student visa from a United States Embassy or Consulate. The letter of acceptance and a completed Form I-20 (more information) Certificate of Eligibility, must be presented to the United States Consulate or Embassy along with the passport and all other required materials in order to obtain an F-1 student visa. This visa will allow the student to enter the United States. The student must apply to the university for the Form I-20.
An official letter of acceptance will be mailed to all applicants who qualify for admission by meeting all necessary requirements.
Registration for classes will be done in conjunction with the deans of each college upon arrival at the NU campus.
