Niagara University's Live Music Series continues with its Spring semester lineup starting with Achilles Revival, SIRSY and Robots Are Thieves.
Robots are thieves is a local Niagara Falls band that gives you a mixture of classic and progressive rock sounds. Featuring, Mike Smith (guitar/vocals), Peter Heuer (guitar/vocals/sounds), Brent Feuz (bass/vocals) and Tom Filosofos (drums), Robots are Thieves is a band to be watched. They recently won The Evening Star's "Battle of the Bands.
Sirsy is a fiery, sultry, soulful, indie pop rock duo is a musical breath of fresh air in the too often homogenized landscape of indie rock. SIRSY is fronted by the charismatic Melanie Krahmer who critics call a girl with a "stunning voice capable of a lion's roar and a floaty whisper"... a girl "with the lungs of a teenage athlete and the growl of a sixty-something blues singer". Krahmer is also the band's drummer, playing a full drum kit (while STANDING UP), bass parts (on a keyboard with her drum stick), a few Ian Anderson-esque flute solos and melodica, too.
Achilles Revival has three members trying to bring rock back into the mainstream. They're made up of Adam on drums and vocals, Jayson on guitar and vocals and Derrek on bass and vocals. They love to write music and are big into their orginal music. They are currently working on their first full length album and hope to gain popularity in the coming months
