Ann Heuer, an NU communications studies/English alumna, was assistant director of NU’s Office of Communications and Public Relations from 2000 to 2004. In 2004, she joined Niagara’s theatre and fine arts department as an office and media coordinator/managing editor of the department’s newsletter. Earlier in her career, she served as director of public relations at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, public relations manager at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, as a public TV writer/spokesperson for WNED-TV in Buffalo and as a public relations specialist for Chicago’s CBI Industries, Inc. An author, Heuer has written five books on interior design for Michael Friedman Publishing Co., and more than 60 feature articles on collectibles and interior design for national and local publications. She is married to Fred Heuer, NU’s assistant vice president for marketing. Their daughter, Marlene, is a teacher and artist and their son-in-law, Peter, is a video game designer and artist.
