The Semester’s Final Month

by Derek Ricioppo on December 2, 2016

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. The last month of the semester has arrived, and I am beginning to work on final assignments in my classes and prepare for exams.

For my public speaking class, we just began delivering our last speech for the semester, a special occasion speech. I will be giving my speech on Tuesday and hope to use what I have learned so far this semester to give a good speech.

In Oral Interpretation, we have begun to deliver our final presentations that are either two smaller pieces combined, or one longer pace that is different from what we have done so far this semester. I am currently figuring out what I want to do for my final presentation, which I will be giving the week after next.

For my Film and Culture class, our final exam will be next week in class, and we will be giving group presentations during our exam period. I have really enjoyed the class and I am hoping that I will do well on the exam next week.

For my American Deaf Culture class, we are having our last lectures and continue to learn about our academic demonstration projects that are due at the end of the semester.

While I have been a student at NU, I have attended many of the NU theatre department’s productions. Last night, I attended the opening of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. It was a wonderful production that had plenty of laughs and great music. It is a show that I highly recommend. NU students can get a free ticket to every theatre production with their NU ID. I strongly suggest you take advantage of this great opportunity.

I have really enjoyed my last semester at NU and it is a bittersweet felling coming upon the last month of my time in college. I’m hoping to finish the semester strong and that it will be a great way to finish my college experience.
