Established in 2007, the Stomp Out Stigma 5K Run & Fun Walk is a USA Track & Field sanctioned 5K run and 1-mile fun walk. All proceeds benefit the Mental Health Association of Niagara County Inc. The event is co-sponsored by the university's Campus Programming Board, Student Government Association and the student chapter of Active Minds.
Both the 5K and 1-mile courses are on campus, making for a very safe and scenic route. The post-race party featuring food, refreshments, music and awards ceremony takes place in the Kiernan Center.
Whether you are a competitive runner or just want to complete the fun walk, the Stomp is a fun event for everyone. The true winner is the Mental Health Association of Niagara County as this event has raised $8,000 over the last four years.
