Jill A. Shuey is the executive director of ReNU Niagara. She received her master of social work with a concentration in community organization and social administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 2000.

As the inaugural director of ReNU Niagara, Shuey is responsible for the design and implementation of community outreach and research projects, supervision of staff and student assistants and budget oversight, as well as facilitating collaborations among community and university partners. She also oversees fund development and the evaluation of programs. In addition, Shuey is a member of Niagara University’s sustainability steering committee and the Vincentian Mission Certificate program.

Shuey has over 10 years of experience in volunteer management, citizen engagement, leadership development, community capacity building and multi-neighborhood planning. She has also received training in community building models, including asset-based community development.

Prior to NU, Shuey worked as a volunteer coordinator, community organizer and neighborhood planning consultant. She currently serves on the boards of the Niagara Falls Main Street Business and Professional Association and Niagara Beautification Commission, and is a member of Niagara Falls Weed & Seed program steering committee.
