Waseem Mango, a native of Amman, Jordan, started his hospitality career at the Amman Intercontinental. He worked in many capacities in theirfood and beverage department. He moved onto Le Meridian Amman where he excelled in their food and beverage department and worked in all 17 in-house outlets. Waseem obtained an academic scholarship to attend Canisius College in 1998, and was a Statler Scholarship winner during his enrollment at Canisius. He graduated in 2002 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Hospitality Management. Upon graduation, he opted to take a challenging position with Lodging Inc. to be the General Manager of Currents Restaurant at the Holiday Inn on Grand Island and was eventually promoted to the Director of Food & Beverage. He served as the Food and Beverage Director for American Hospitality Group LLC, which is a full service hospitality management corporation that promotes the Western New York area with convention services on Grand Island New York. At the young age of twenty-five, Waseem attained his Certified Food & Beverage Executive Designation from the American Hotel & Lodging Association making him one of the youngest candidates in North American to attain this designation. Waseem currently serves as the Director of Operations for Merani Holdings LLC, a holding firm represented in the USA by the Holiday Inn Niagara Falls; the first Holiday Inn in the WNY market to fly the brand new “re-launch” Holiday Inn brand image and standards. Waseem is also a ServSafe food safety Instructor and a TIPs trainer and proctor.
