Michael J. Jeswald
Michael has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He has worked as a night auditor, front office manager and a sales manager at various hotels in Western New York. He was also the director of convention services and sales with the Buffalo Convention Center and worked directly with the convention and visitors bureau to solidify future city wide conventions.
Michael has been training for Niagara University’s Hospitality Training & Research Center for seven years. He specializes in topics pertaining to professional development, sales training and quality customer service. He also teaches a conference & event operations class that allows the students to gain valuable hands-on experience in the industry.
Michael has coordinated a professional development program for the Seneca Nation of Indians where the center "took the training to the customer" and held it in Irving, N.Y. The focus of the program was to help the members of the nation develop their skills and prepare them for a career in the hospitality industry. He has also worked with Sentry Hospitality to develop a customer service based program for the new and current employees.
Michael is a member of the Niagara County Youth Council and helps coordinate hospitality-based programs that provide opportunities for the youth of Niagara County. Most recently, Michael coordinated a youth program that assisted the students on career development, job readiness skills, and job placement. He also serves on the advisory council for the North Tonawanda History Museum. In the past, Michael has also done professional development training for NCCC's Corporate Training Office, the hospitality management dDepartment at Trocaire College, and for that Statler Center for Careers in Hospitality Service.
Michael is a graduate of SUNY at Fredonia with a bachelor of science in business management and he completed his MBA in human resources at Niagara University. He was also nominated to the National Honor Society of Beta Gamma Sigma. He currently teaches adjunct at Niagara University and Niagara County Community College.
