White, Jane- I obtained my MSW degree from the University of Toronto in 1999 and I am RSW licensed to practice in Canada. I work as a consultant in Canada in the area of health care. I've been (2nd) co-author for 2 articles published in Health & Social Work: "Social Work in Restructuring Hospitals: Program Management Five-Years Later" (2002, Vol. 27, No. 4) and "Thriving in Program Management Environments: The Case of Social Work in Hospitals" (2004, Vol. 38, No. 1). I presented at ASA's 6th International Care Management Conference in Philadelphia in October, 2003.
I currently sit on the Board of Directors for the Area Agency on Aging of Southwest Florida and Chair the Advisory Council as well as the Information Technology Committee. On the research front, another published article (2nd author) "The Emerging Role of Professional Practice Leaders in Social Work" in the Canadian Association of Social Work (CASW) E-journal Nov. 2005, and was chosen to present in San Diego at the SSWLHC Conference April of 2006 on "The Business of Social Work in Health Care." I will be presenting at the Society for Social Work Leadership in Health Care (SSWLHC) Conference in Montreal, Spring 2008 on the topic of "Cross-border Collaboration: Leadership Initiatives for Community Long-term Care."
I became a SHINE counselor which was very useful in helping seniors understand their choices during the presecription drug plan enrollment period, and hav also been very involved in advocacy - 'educating' senators, congressmen, etc. at both state and federal levels on senior issues - e.g. Older American Act renewal, budget issues, etc.

Krtek, Nancy - I graduated with my Masters of Social Work specializing in Health, Mental Health and disabilities in 2000 from the State University of New York at Buffalo. I am a licensed practitioner in New York State and Ontario, Canada.
Since graduating I have continued to pursue an academic path, through ongoing trainings and certifications, with various clinical techniques and interventions taught by many of the theorists themselves. For example: I am certified in eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Neuro Emotional Technique (N.E.T.) certified, and a resource consultant in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I have a lot of training with attachment issues and Schema therapy; I have also attained a Trauma certificate from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
I am finding that my treatment preference is leaning toward bio-energetic techniques and various other educational pursuits with outstanding results. My clinical experience is broad based and comes from more of a vitalistic treatment approach. Therefore reinforcing the Strengths Perspective simultaneously focusing on the bio-psycho-social factors of one's existence and the impact of this dynamic on the individual in regard to a holistic treatment approach.
I work full-time as a psychotherapist at an outpatient clinic in Buffalo, New York at a teaching hospital. I also have a part-time private counseling and consultation practice in Ridgeway, Ontario, Canada. I continue to work with diverse populations and age groups ranging from about 2 years old to the elderly. Clients are primarily coming from Ontario and as far as Southern New York, to my private practice, in Ridgeway. I am also teaching healthcare and mental health related issues, as a part-time faculty member, within the Social Work Department at Niagara University. I am available for various other training and consultation arrangements with agencies, businesses and/or for peer consultation.
My clinical areas of specialization are with trauma, Grief/Loss, Depression, Anxiety, Addictions, Conduct and Behavioral Issues as well as Medical Illnesses. I participated on an EMDR research project, funded by the Office of Child and Family Services of New York, with Ricky Greenwald, Psy.D., using his MASTR protocol with Conduct Disordered adolescents back in 2000-2001.
