ROTC AT NIAGARA UNIVERSITY

Freshmen and Sophomores at Niagara take one 2 credit course and one 1 credit  course during each year for a total of six credit hours. Juniors and Seniors take a 3 credit hour course each semester during the year.  Any student at Niagara can take the first two years of Military Science courses without any obligation to participate.

The Military Science courses at NU are listed as a Social Science, Western Civilization, or as a free elective.  A student may talk with their advisor for any additional uses of Military Science courses.

Niagara University's ROTC department is entirely self contained here on campus.  Many ROTC programs actually do not have all of the ROTC classes on one campus -- all of our classes are taught right here in our own ROTC classroom.

All major buildings on the 160 acre campus are relatively close together, so getting around campus by foot is not a problem.  Best of all, Niagara University's suburban campus is the ideal setting to create close relationships with professors, administrators and students.

NUs undergraduate enrollment is approximately 3,000 with an additional 600 students enrolled in graduate studies.  With the friends you make in ROTC you will find that college seems like a home away from home.  The cadets at Niagara are very close, even between the seniors and freshmen.  Through ROTC, you will develop friendships that will last throughout your lifetime.

At NU, we always have fun activities planned for our cadets.  Such activities include paintball, camping, whitewater rafting and rappelling, along with a wide range of other activities. Throughout the year numerous events are held to increase the cadets esprit, knowledge, and teamwork.  These events have ranged from Walk-a-thons to raffles.

At least twice a year overnight trips to our local training areas are held.  Other highlights include the Military Ball and the Dining In.

Besides all of these experiences, ROTC also has four clubs:

Second Lieutenant First Lieutenant Captian Major Lieutenant Colonal Colonal
