PROGRAM INFORMATIONhe Military Science Program (Army ROTC) at Niagara County Community College is a partnership program with Niagara University serving as its host. Freshmen and sophomore students may take the free elective classes at NCCC just as they would at Niagara University. The courses are free to students and the text books are provided. Physical fitness training is at Niagara University Kiernan Center five days a week as well as lab for cadets interested in becoming Army Officers. Full scholarship opportunities do exist for those at NCCC as well as those that want to continue on at Niagara University or Buffalo State College. Students may also enroll in the SMP (Simultaneous Membership Program). The SMP program allows students to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard and also be ROTC Cadets. The advantages are numerous: SMP cadets at NCCC receive full tuition benefits, ROTC stipend, drill pay, possible G.I. Bill benefits and bonuses. The total amount of benefits will easily allow a student to pay for college and not have to work about student loans or other part-time jobs.
