Tom Lowe was born and raised in Niagara County and graduated from Lewiston-Porter High School in 2004. The Youngstown native earned a bachelor of arts in English with a minor in arts administration from SUNY Fredonia in 2009, before returning to Niagara County to serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA with ReNU Niagara.

Tom's foundation in community service work comes from his involvement with the American Cancer Society in college. While at SUNY Fredonia, he founded the school's chapter of Colleges Against Cancer and Relay for Life.

As ReNU Niagara’s program coordinator, Tom manages the GreenRoots Leadership Development Program, projects in the Highland Community and the Vacant Lot Coalition. He has received training from the Grantsmanship Center and the Clean Air Coalition’s Lois Gibbs Fellowship program.  Tom currently sits on the following boards: Greenprint Niagara, Main Street Business and Professional Association, Niagara beautification Commission and the Hyde Park Babe Ruth Baseball Association.
